Please look up page 312 in the 20th Anniversery Core Book, to read up on how to aquire any kind of gear, in detail. Simply put; you roll Negotiaton + Charisma with a Threshold equal to Availabilty and a Timeframe depending on the item cost. You can also spend extra money and/or have a connection do the hunt for you (for a fee of course). I'm reminding everybody here, because we don't need to make every purchase its own semi-subplot. Putting it into roleplay is a good way of going about it and helps the story, but the bottom line is the above mentioned roll. So unless you want to buy like a nuclear-powered submarine/spacecraft, or other, highly rare items, don't overthink the purchase-making too much. Simply write down what you want, how much the listprice is, and the availibilty of all items and we do a quick role next session to see, how long it will take to get it (taking down-time into account of course).

Here is what I need to know. If you want to buy anything, make a list and let me know the next time we get together. Item - Availiblity - Cost (and resulting Threshold, see corebook under gear) - Extra Money (1 extra die for every 25% extra) - If/What ContactExample: Heavy Pistol - 4R - 350 nuyen (1 day) - 50% extra (total 525, +2 dice) - Badger (L:3 C:4) You give me that information (or have it on the forums) and I will let you roll Negotiation + Charisma + extra dice, or roll as your contact aftter I determine his fee for the job (usually the Avalibilty as % of the listed price, +5 for R, +10 for F) If you don't have stats for your contact, I'll use double his contact rating +/- modifiers according to his area of connections (+4 if he's a weapon fence and you need weapons for example) + his loyalty rating. So for the above example, Badger would expect 9% of the 350 list price as his fee, and he would roll 8 + 2 (fixers know everybody in one way or another) + 3 (loyalty) + 2 for extra money paid, or a total of 15 dice against a threshold of 4 (1 Day, extended) to get the heavy pistol for me.Please keep this in mind for most purchases. Normal Items (Items without R or F in their Avail) can be purchased relativly easy. For that, assume you can buy any normal item with an Avail of 2x your Fake SIN (so 8 with a SIN of 4). If you have a fake license for an R-item, you can buy double that License-Rating in Availbility (again, a Fake license 4 buys up to 8R of what the license is for). For those items, you won't need to roll or spend time (unless the GM wants you to for whatever reason). Ammunition with Availibility 6 or less you can just buy without any delay or roll, above that (assault ammo, ex-ex ammo, etc) will need some time and work to get it. All of that will still have to go through the GM, so just let me know that you buy something (however simple it is) and inform me, that you have the License or SIN to cover the Availibilty and I most likely allow it to be purchased right away. Type | max Avail without dice roll or waiting time | Normal | Fake SIN x2 | Restricted | Fake License x2 | Forbidden | Forget it! | Ammunition | <=6 |
